This is what the cabin looks like right now, from the west. Don picked up exterior doors today, and the last window/sliding glass door should soon be installed as well. The soffit is being stained. Plumber has started the rough plumbing inside. The bathtub was delivered today. The rock for the lower part of the cabin on the outside will be delivered soon. So, a lot is happening. There are moments in our lives when we feel totally overwhelmed, even with Chris overseeing the project. But step by step, we are seeing it taking shape.
On the left is a picture of the 2,500-gallon fresh water storage tank being delivered (it will be buried underground), and below one of the septic system.
Thank you to all of you who prayed for the Pastor Appreciation Dinner. We had a larger group attending this year that the first two years. Everybody seemed to enjoy the food and good fellowship. We are so very thankful to Jack & Nettie who fixed the main course.
Here is a thank-you note from one of them: “Thank you very much for the dinner you hosted for the pastors. I enjoyed finally meeting . . . the pastors’ wives. It was a good reminder of the importance of the ‘unnecessary’ things in this life, like good food, unexpected gifts, and appreciation dinners!”
We have a busy month ahead of us. Today, our newest board member, Oliver, arrives for the week, and a family of six for two nights. Next week, Don’s daughter Sara, her husband and youngest child come for a week. We will travel to Wisconsin for another CareGivers Forum later in the month. And the building project continues…
We appreciate your interest in and prayer for Shekinah Ranch, and we always welcome any comments or questions.
