Well, hello gorgeous!

I hope this finds you (and your loved ones) healthy and happy. My family is waving farewell to a busy summer. My daughter and I spent three glorious weeks exploring London, Paris, and the Burgundy region of France. A major highlight was sharing a specular meal at the famous Jules Verne restaurant on the Eiffel Tower as the sunset on her 13th birthday. Overall, it was an incredible trip composed of a million memories that will last a lifetime.

I bought my son his first chef’s knife and we continue to enjoy spending time together in the kitchen. He’s had fun watching the Seattle Mariners play a few games and is becoming a supportive fan of the Portland Pickles. He’s preparing to play Fall Ball with the SW Portland Little League and is a proud new Club Member of the D-BAT batting cages.

On a professional note, I’ve been fortunate to attend several enriching conferences and events. I was invited to pour my wine for an International Women’s Day dinner hosted by Chef Stephanie Izard at her new restaurant Cabra in downtown Los Angeles. The elaborate dinner featured six incredible courses curated six extraordinary Top Chefs. My 2018 Pinot Noir was brilliantly paired with a dish of pork cheeks, heirloom beans, honey roasted carrots, whipped garlic, and green chili puffed rice prepared by Brooke Williamson - winner of Top Chef Season 14. It. Was. Epic.

Two weeks later I returned to California to spend a week at the UC Davis campus participating in their Wine Executive Program hosted by the Graduate School of Viticulture & Enology. It was an enlightening learning opportunity that brought with it many new perspectives regarding big wide world of wine. This summer I also attended the Assemblage Symposium, the Women in Wine Conference, and the International Pinot Noir Celebration.

I have been busy at the winery bottling and packaging my new wines from 2021 as well as a few remaining projects from 2019. I think you’re going to fall in love with these offerings and I can’t wait to share them with you.

I’m launching a new series of Happy Hour wine tastings that begin THIS Friday! This series will offer a shared wine tasting experience with up to 12 wine lovers seated together at our gathering table in Johns Landing. Guests will receive a welcome coupe of our '17 Joyful Bubbly Sparkling Brut, five tasting pours, and a small snack tray of surprise nibbles. Follow the link below to reserve a spot.

Private wine tastings are available by advance reservation for parties of 6 to 14 guests at the tasting room. (The sky’s the limit if I come to your home or office!) Contact me at elaina@wovenwineworks.com to schedule an appointment.

I can host private parties and special events at the tasting room for up to 25 people. There is a flat $60/hour rental fee with a three hour minimum. Non-profits, schools, and artists/artisans receive a 20% discount. We love to support our community so reach out with special requests. I also love pouring at off-site private parties and events.

After six years of farming as LIVE certified sustainable we’ve begun a new journey to transition to all organic farming methods at the vineyard. So far, so good! I dare to say it outloud, but this year’s crop looks extremely promising. The grape clusters are plentiful, fruitful, and downright beautiful. We are super excited to be growing for Pike Road Winery as well as Day Wines this year. If you’re not familiar with these wineries, please check ‘em out and support them by purchasing some delicious wine that is being produced from the fruits of our farming.

My vision for Woven has always been to bring people together, cultivate stronger communities, and provoke storytelling. With this in mind I’m excited to share a series of multi-sensory workshops that I’ll be co-hosting with special guests at our tasting room in Johns Landing. Below you will find info regarding these and other events.
