REMINDER:
NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR
IBMA BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Nominations are being accepted for open positions on the IBMA Board of Directors. This is an opportunity for professionals in the bluegrass industry and beyond to contribute significantly to ensure the future of our field, through your service to the professional organization that has launched or helped launch:

  • the IBMA Trust Fund
  • the IBMA Foundation
  • the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum
  • the IBMA Awards
  • World of Bluegrass
  • Leadership Bluegrass
  • the Bluegrass Album GRAMMY.
Board members make a three-year commitment to serve and attend all board meetings. (Currently there are two in-person board meetings and two teleconference meetings annually with additional teleconference meetings, should the need arise.) With the IBMA's nonprofit status, board members are also asked to assist with development efforts to fund programs.

The application process will include identifying two nominators (self-nominating is permitted), both of whom are IBMA members in good standing. You will be asked about your areas of interest, the skills you would bring to the Board, past experience on IBMA committees and other boards, and a brief statement on why you wish to serve on the Board. You must be an IBMA member to serve on the Board of Directors.

The Board positions up for nomination, listed by the constituencies they represent, will be:
  • Artists, Composers & Music Publishers (1 of 3 seats)
  • Bluegrass Music Associations (1 seat)
  • Merchandisers & Luthiers (1 seat)
  • At Large (1 of 2 seats)
If you have any questions, please contact paul@ibma.org.
