Dear <<First Name>>,

On behalf of the entire staff at the US-ASEAN Business Council, I wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous Lunar New Year as we welcome the Year of the Pig!

This is a particularly auspicious year for the Council because we are celebrating our 35th anniversary. It has been our privilege to engage with ASEAN on behalf of U.S. business in the years since our founding in 1984, and to see the region become an economic powerhouse with abundant opportunities for American companies. To mark this occasion, we will be publishing an updated version of “ASEAN Matters for America,” to underscore the important relationship between the United States and ASEAN.

In 2019 we are excited to support Thailand’s chairmanship of ASEAN, and look forward to successful elections in Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines before early summer.

At the Council, we have started our year on a strong note, already leading our second mission to the Meeting of the ASEAN Tourism Ministers in Ha Long, Vietnam, and our annual Business Mission to Brunei. We have a full calendar of activities ahead, including our country- and sector-specific Business Missions, our annual engagements with the ASEAN Economic, Energy, Transport, Agriculture and Forestry, ICT and Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors, as well as the ASEAN Customs Directors General. We will also be organizing tours for our U.S. Ambassadors posted in the region and ASEAN Ambassadors resident here in Washington, DC.

Our annual Gala Dinner in June this year promises to be a fantastic celebration of our 35th anniversary, our successes in strengthening ties between the United States and ASEAN, and our thriving partnership in the years to come.

We look forward to continuing to work with you in Southeast Asia and making the Year of the Pig a successful and prosperous one for all!

Chúc Mừng Năm Mới!

           Gong Xi Fa Cai!

                      Kung Hei Fat Choi!

Best,
Alex
