Welcome to the 2020 Water Knowledge Europe edition

Durk Krol, Water Europe's Executive Director and Andrea Rubini, Water Europe's Director of Operations opened the curtains of this year's edition. Durk Krol made special reference to our last year analysis that demonstrated that 74% of all participants to EU funded projects are Water Europe members. This has clearly showed the potential of Water Europe's network.
What about the EU Green Deal Call?
In the introductory session to the European Green Deal Calls for proposals, Artemios Kourtesis showed an in-depth analysis of the call’s objectives, structure and areas to focus, while Panagiotis Balabanis highlighted the role that water has in this important call. Juan Carlos Garcia Carrasco offered key insights & tips on how to write a successful project proposal, highlighting that evaluators need to have tangible indicators as figures to evaluate'. View their presentations.
Water Projects Europe Event launched
The new series of our Water Projects Europe event was  launched on the 13th of October. Dedicated to the theme ‘Industrial Water Reuse in the Circular Economy’, the event kicked-off with  a presentation from Denis Bonvillian who set the scene on the challenges and opportunities for Industrial Water Reuse in the EU Green Deal.
Experts from five EU-funded research projects, REWATCH, ZERO BRINE, NEXTGEN, ULTIMATE & Ιndustry Water 4.0 were also there to present their projects, talk about their contributions to the EU Green Deal and exchange insights on their experiences, creating new synergies and building the ground for future collaborations. Working Group Meetings

Water Knowledge Europe 2020 counted 14 Working Groups meetings throughout the week. Leaders and co-leaders convened with their members to discuss their annual plans, workshops and all other upcoming activities. They especially opened the floor for interactive discussions on ideas for white papers but also new project's proposals. For more information, please contact Andrea Rubini.
Did you learn to play the Serious Game?
The Water Europe Working Groups Nexus and Human Capital hosted together the 'Play to Learn the Nexus Approach' Workshop on the 15th of October. Participants had the opportunity to gain insights about the importance of human capital for resource use and explore the Serious Game as a means to learn the Nexus approach and examine  the best methods for sustainable resource management. For more information, please contact Naomi Timmer and Floor Brouwer.
