Congregational Meeting This Sunday

10:15am in the Multi-Purpose Room or on Zoom
Dear Church family,
Unfortunately, we were unable to gather last Sunday due to the winter storm, but I hope you were able to participate in Sunday school and at least hear the sermon.  It appears that we may get some form of wintry weather again prior to Sunday, but hopefully it won’t keep us from being able to be together in some way.  While much of this is unknown, we do our best to prepare in advance to make things run as smoothly as possible.
With that in mind, we will provide a hybrid congregational meeting this Sunday.  Our adult Sunday school classes will not be gathering due to the meeting.  If you can join us in-person, we will gather in the multi-purpose room so that we can utilize our Zoom technology to include others in the church who are unable to physically be present.  This will ensure our quorum and allow everyone to have voice and vote on the matters requiring votes.  We will send out a congregational email tomorrow that will provide you with the Zoom link and a pdf copy of the Annual Report.  Just as a reminder we will meet for several purposes:
  • To hold the annual meeting of the corporation
  • To receive the Annual Report of the church
  • To elect a deacon to fill an unexpired term
  • To approve the Pastor’s terms of call
I look forward to seeing you in-person or on Zoom!  Stay warm and safe!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Jeff

Emergency Need for Donated Food at
Hospitality House
Winter weather is playing havoc with Hospitality House’s ability meet hunger relief needs RIGHT NOW!  There is vastly increased need for more food, and food supply deliveries have been crippled by winter road conditions.  As Watauga County’s only 7-day/week, 365-day/year food pantry, Hospitality House has not closed at all during this time.  As a result, shelves are mostly empty in its food pantry, as this photo shows:
Hospitality House needs food donations, particularly produce, granola bars, soup, canned ravioli, mac 'n cheese, lunchables, kids’ snacks, and microwaveable meals BEFORE MORE SNOW ARRIVES ON FRIDAY!  If you are able and moved to do so, donations are accepted between 9 am – 5 pm on the loading dock to the left of Hospitality House’s Food Pantry entrance.
