Just One Week Away…
Outdoor Worship at 11:00am
Lower Parking Lot

Dear Church Family,
We are just one week away from gathering in person for the first time in over a year!  I don’t know about you, but I’m excited about being together again even if it’s just outside.  I do hope you will come and participate in worship with us and if you’re still uncomfortable or unable to, let me remind you that our YouTube service will still be available for you to watch online.  At this time, I ask you to pray for good weather.  If for some reason inclimate weather is forecasted for Mother’s Day, we will send communication via email, the church website, and social media to inform everyone of the cancellation.  But hopefully we won’t have to do that!
Since this is new for all of us, I want to provide some specifics for you as you prepare to come:
  • We encourage those with mobility issues to drive into the lowest parking lot and circle around to the handicap spaces and those directly across from them in the “upper – lower lot,” next to the dumpsters.  We will have cones out for those spaces and will have folks who can help direct you.  This will prevent you from having to come up the stairs from the lowest lot.
  • We encourage all others to park in the main lot across from WJ Office and walk down.
  • The service will begin at 11:00am, so please make every effort to be on time.  Vehicle noise can be a distraction to worship.
What to Bring:
  • Bring a mask for you and your loved ones.  Even though we are outside, we will follow the CDC guidelines for larger group gatherings outdoors.
  • Bring a camping chair, or a lawn chair.  We will be intentional about providing at least six feet in between family groups.
  • We encourage all who have hearing impairments to gather closer to the speaker system.   Sound will be an issue with it being outdoors and we don’t want you to struggle to hear.
  • Bulletins will be provided for you and they will have inserts of all the music being sung for the day.  We will be singing… so the mask is even more important!
  • We will not be passing the peace with hugs, or handshakes at this time.  We encourage you to verbally pass the peace to those seated around you.  Even if you are fully vaccinated, please refrain from doing this so as not to make anyone uncomfortable.
  • During the children’s message, we encourage the children to remain with their families.  Following the children’s message, Mrs. Erin will take the pre-school – first grade children to the playground for children’s church.  They can be picked up after the service there.
  • Those who wish to bring their offerings may do so at the appropriate time, by coming forward and placing it in the “bucket” provided on the table upfront.  We will use a bucket to prevent the wind from blowing everything away!
  • If you need to use the bathroom, the church doors will be unlocked for you to do so on the lower side.
For now, this is all you need to know.  The only other thing I ask of you is to come with joy!  Let us worship like we haven’t worshiped together in over a year with thanksgiving and praise to the God who is always good!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Jeff

Virtual Communion This Sunday!
As we gather to worship for our First Light and Traditional Service times, we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper together.  In preparation, you are encouraged to gather whatever is common in your home for the bread and the cup.  As we do so, let us remember that it’s the Holy Spirit who unites all of our hearts together as we worship from afar.

Join us Sunday for Worship @  8:45am & 11:00am!

Let Us Pray Together… Thursdays @ 10:00am
I invite you to join me for prayer on a weekly basis.  I will be hosting a Zoom prayer time on Thursdays at 10:00am.  This will be a time to share joys and concerns and to spend some time praying with one another, even if it’s just wordless groans!  If you are interested in participating please email Steve Marks – and let him know.  We will email you the zoom link information for you to join.
This is open to anyone and there’s no pressure to pray out loud if you don’t want to.   For those whose schedules limit participation at this time, I encourage you to stop what you’re doing at 10:00am and to offer a prayer with us from where you are.  Let us continue to seek God daily, joining together to pray for one another and for our world.  I look forward to praying with you!
Pastor Jeff
