Join us for our Churchwide Picnic
at Valle Crucis Park this Sunday

3:30pm- Dusk

This Sunday afternoon we will gather for food and fellowship at Valle Crucis Park.  You can find us at the picnic shelter located next to the bathrooms.  Bring your family, your bikes, a basketball, frisbee, or swim wear to play in the river.  The church will be providing hamburgers and hotdogs and we ask that you bring a side dish or dessert to share.  It will be a great time to connect, play, and enjoy a beautiful day together as church.  If the weather is not cooperative, we will plan to have the event at the church.  Be sure to sign up for our “Text in Church” app to receive important notifications such as last-minute change of plans.  I’m prayerful we will not be deterred by rain and that we can truly enjoy the atmosphere of the park.  I look forward to seeing you there!

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Jeff

We’ll participate in Holy Communion this Sunday!

As we join in worship together Sunday, we will celebrate the sacrament of holy communion.  I encourage you to prepare your hearts and for those of you who are worshipping from home, to be aware of this as you gather as a family to worship with us.

High School Students Enjoy Mission Conference in Greensboro

Two weeks ago, I took four of our high school boys to the Passport Mission Conference in Greensboro, NC.  The week was filled with fellowship, bible study, engaging worship, recreation, and opportunities to serve those in need in the Greensboro area.  Our group served alongside of Rosemary United Methodist Church in Roanoke Rapids, NC at the Salvation Army.  We spent two days assisting with donations, pricing, and putting out their products, and unloading their truck shipments.  It was a great way of helping an organization that provides so much to the community and beyond.  Our students worked hard, played hard, and even led in worship during the week.  In addition, our FPC Boone team was the runner up in the volleyball tournament.  I assure you that they represented our church well and grew in their faith as they learned about the Big God we serve.  I was honored to serve alongside of them.  Below you will find a few photos of our week together.

For anyone wishing to feel the fabric before ordering, a sample will be in the Gathering Space on Sunday, August 14. Contact Angela Smith at jabandl@aol.com with questions.

CALLING

ALL

COOKS!
REACH Wednesday returns in person with meals starting on September 7!
This year we are planning on having cook teams prepare family-friendly meals, so we are looking for people who enjoy cooking, planning meals, or just being an extra set of hands in the kitchen. We will also need people to help serve the meals and put the food away after dinner. If you help cook, or serve, or clean up, you should still be able to attend class if you choose to. Dinner will be served from 5:15 – 6:00 and classes for all ages will begin at 6:15pm.
If you are interested in helping, or would like to find out more about how you can help, please email Sue Newell at alltogether@bellsouth.net.
We look forward to once again having this time to come together and grow in our relationship with each other and God on Wednesday evenings!
