Let’s get to know this month’s Thank You Thursday recipient a little bit better!
  1. What do you enjoy most about working at Spindletop Center? I like the people that work here and being able to assist in buying things that help run the many departments we have here at the center.
  2. What is one fact about yourself that most people at Spindletop Center wouldn’t know? I enjoy playing video games in my spare time.
  3. What are your three favorite movies/TV shows? Everybody Hates Chris and The Office, and my favorite movie is Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
  4. What’s something that you hope to cross off your bucket list in the near future? I would really love to travel to Africa.
  5. If you could have any super power, what would it be and why? The Force. I’m not sure if it’s an actual super power because I’m not a Star Wars super fan, but it just seems to be all of the really good super powers wrapped into one. LOL.

Each month, we will highlight one of our programs or departments with photos and a description of what that program or department does.
This month, we're highlighting our CHARM Program!

Creating Harmony and Recreational Methods (CHARM) Program

The CHARM Program provides individuals with age appropriate activities that enhance self-esteem, training and support activities which promote the individual’s integration and participation in the community. CHARM staff take the individuals to different community events and on monthly outings.
"In CHARM we show the individuals different cultures so they will be able to integrate into all communities, being knowledgeable of the society norms and traditions," said Lisa Stark, CHARM supervisor. "CHARM individuals go out to eat, to the movies, museums and more. They volunteer at the Community Garden in Beaumont and they also visit the VA center\hospital to deliver cards on Veterans Day. They also go to different festivals in Jefferson County. They participate in an array of arts and crafts activities and the staff assist the individuals in reaching their goals while enhancing their computer, reading and math skills."

Spindletop Center's Job of the Week posts this month included Peer Recovery Support Specialist, Human Service Tech, Training Specialist and Substance Abuse Counselor!
