WHAT ARE YOU MISSING MOST?
Our Vestry Leadership Team would like to hear from you - what about Christ Church are you missing most as we move through this time of being unable to meet in person as groups and as a whole? Perhaps if we know what you are missing, we might be able to discern new ways to help you and others to connect. Suggestions are welcome as well, of course. Please contact Linda Johnson with your thoughts: firstname.lastname@example.org or 253-802-6824. Who are the Vestry Leadership Team? Senior Warden Dennis Johnson, Junior Warden Linda Johnson (related to Dennis only in Christ), Treasurer Winfield Giddings, Facilities Chair Joe Conklin, Stewardship Chair Brianne Knudson, and Mother Campbell.
FINANCIAL GIVING SURVEY RESULTS
Thank you to everyone who responded to the COVID-19 Task Force survey regarding pledging. More than 70% of our pledging households responded, which was tremendously helpful in clarifying our financial standing as it pertains to annual giving. The good news is that most of us are able to continue fulfillment of our pledges as planned and that it looks like the pandemic will not have extensive impact on our expected pledge income. We are once again touched and overwhelmed by the incredible generosity of our congregation. Some of you even increased your pledges in light of our current circumstances, some gave extra one-time gifts, and some are still giving what you can despite decreased means. What a beautiful witness to our commitment to our faith and our church family even while physically distant.

SPRING FOUNDATIONS COURSE: THREE FASCINATING MEDIEVAL WOMEN
NEED A BREAK FROM PANDEMIC NEWS? - Join us for a discussion of three fascinating medieval women who upset the world in which they lived by calling for a compassionate Christianity and the reform of society. In this Spring Foundations Course, we will hear from Hildegard of Bingen, Mechthild of Magdeburg, and Julian of Norwich – three mystics whose visions prompted them to express their experience of the flowing light of God in this world – and in our world today.
Should you want to join our online Zoom conversation, please send an email to Fr. Torvend at Samuel@christchurchtacoma.org by Saturday, May 9. He needs to hear from you in order to send you three short biographies and excerpts from their writings and to add you to the Zoom log-in invitation list.
We will meet via Zoom on Tuesdays, May 12, 19, and 26, at 7:00 p.m.
MONDAY BIBLE STUDY - Contact Doug Dahlgren (firstname.lastname@example.org) to see if the group is planning to meet by phone or internet.

OUR LIFE OF SERVICE AND ADVOCACY
IN COMMUNITY AND WORLD

Donations and volunteers for various tasks (such as fostering a homeless pet in your home) are needed. Contact any service provider first by phone or website for guidance on the best ways to help and donate.

Emergency Food Network provides 14 million pounds of healthy, nutritious food annually to 80+ food pantries, meal sites, and shelters for distribution to families and individuals in need. There are 1.3 million visits to food pantries and meal sites in Pierce County each year; 54% of these visits are children and seniors! These numbers have vastly increased since the arrival of the coronavirus. Through the Emergency Food Network, we can make sure these hungry families and individuals receive the nutritious food they need to stay healthy.
For every $1 donated, EFN provides 5 meals for our neighbors in need!
Thank you for your support!
