THIS WEEKEND AT CHRIST CHURCH

SUNDAY
10:30 a.m. CHRISTMAS READINGS AND CAROLS  -
Holy Eucharist with Christmas Readings and Carols, Church.

CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE FOR TWO PARISH FAMILIES

CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE FOR TWO PARISH FAMILIES – on the bulletin board in the Church entryway. Two of our families, the Standleys and Moores, would be grateful for our help to make a happy Christmas. Each ornament on the tree suggests a gift for a member of one of the families; on the back of each ornament is the name of the “gift-ee” and any information needed for the gift, such as size in the case of clothing. Please take an ornament or two, purchase the gift(s), wrap them and label them with the gift-ee’s name. Bring your gift(s) to church and leave them in the church entryway under the giving tree. We’ll continue collecting gifts through the Twelve Days of Christmas, concluding on Sunday, January 5 (The Feast of the Epiphany, transferred).

MINISTRY OF THE WEEK – LECTORS (READERS) – We give thanks this week for the ministry of those who give voice to the Word of God in the assembly. Lectors study and pray with their assigned scriptural text during the week prior to the Sunday they read. They bring to their ministry a familiarity with the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures and the ability to proclaim various kinds of texts with understanding and clarity. New lectors receive training in the use of the sound system in our challenging acoustical environment before they are added to the rotation of readers. Interested in serving in this ministry? Contact coordinator Steve Kieta at skietastuff@gmail.com
