The first week of travel practice was a good start to the season. Overall the enthusiasm from the coaching staff and players was good, but we still have areas of improvement. This week we will have USA Hockey representatives around and on the ice with some of our teams potentially. We have been really increasing our overall communications with our USAH representatives to ensure we are staying on course with our player development and our progress is being noted. Our goal is to become a USAH Model Association here and we are on our way to achieving that status. We still have a lot of work and implementation, but we do have a strong foundation. Becoming a Model Association will provide us more resources for our coaches, players, and their families alike.
There were multiple requests for the same numbers this year, and with that said, if two players selected the same number then a coin flip was done, and for three or more players names were drawn out of a hat.
All of our teams' volunteers are set and the operations committee is close to being assembled. I appreciate everyone's collective effort to making RRHC the best ever! It doesn't matter how big or small a contribution is as it all makes a difference. In the game of hockey winning a game can come down to blocking a single shot in the 1st or 3rd period. Every play, or the case of volunteering, every single minute given to the club makes a difference in us winning! With that said, the Green and Black contract final version has been submitted to the BOD for approval and will be out to the membership shortly.
Try Hockey For Free
Try Hockey For Free is coming around the corner and we are gearing up for the event. As mentioned in all of our team and program meetings over the past week to grow this program is a collective effort. It starts will sharing these type of events with all of your friends, neighbors, and family! The Board of Directors have also put into motion a referral plan that will allow each member to refer people and receive a certificate for a RRHC spring/summer camp. The exact details and execution is being finalized and I will have what this means for you as a RRHC family hopefully in next week's Director's Note.
