Please join us for a ribbon cutting for a short but crucial piece of safe cycling infrastructure at the intersection of Rt 303 and Greenbush Rd on Fri 7/12 at 10a

The Greenbush Rd Bike Bypass will allow cyclists to avoid a busy stretch of Rt. 303, which hosts four lanes of traffic, with cars traveling at 45 miles per hour. There has been at least one fatal cyclist accident at this location. In 2018, there were 40 crashes involving a car and a cyclist in Rockland County, according to data compiled by the Institute for Traffic Safety Management and Research.

A ribbon cutting for the quarter-mile bypass at the intersection of Route 303 and Greenbush Road in Blauvelt will be held on Friday, July 12th at 10a. near 374 Greenbush Rd, Blauvelt, NY (please park at Valentine Electric). Funding for this $125,000 bike/pedestrian bypass project was secured by NYS Senator David Carlucci.

Among officials who are expected to attend are Senator David Carlucci; Orangetown Supervisor Chris Day; Councilman Paul Valentine; Highway Department Superintendent James Dean.

This is an opportunity for anyone who rides a bike or walks to show their support for projects that make it safer to get around without a car in Rockland County. Please try to come out and show your support to encourage future funding of bike/ped infrastructure.
