Our Zoom Meeting ID has changed

From now on, for all of our regularly scheduled church-wide meetings (Tuesday check-ins, Thursday check-ins, and now, Sunday mornings, too) we are using the same Meeting ID on Zoom... and if you forget it, it's the same as the church's phone number!

On Tuesdays at 2:00 pm, and on Thursdays at 7:00 pm, join the Zoom Meeting ID: 780 439 3654 and you will be connected; no password required.

And Sunday mornings, if you want to join the broadcast by Zoom, or if you want to join the Virtual Foyer after the service, join that same Zoom Meeting ID: 780 439 3654

If you are joining a Bible Study, GriefShare or the Young Adult check-ins, those IDs have stayed the same, so continue to use those links.

If you want to pass the information on to someone who is joining us by phone, the information is here:

A Note About Sunday Mornings...

This past Sunday we tried out having a Virtual Foyer after the morning service by opening up the Zoom meeting for anyone who wanted to join... it was a huge success!!

Starting this Sunday, if you want to join us on Zoom for the entire service you are welcome to do so. We will continue to stream the service to Facebook Live, but we will also be letting people join us on Zoom. Why would you want to do that? Well, there's a few possible reasons:

  • On Zoom you are able to see everyone else who is on Zoom, and they can see you. It's still not the same as being there in person, but it is kind of nice to see those familiar faces... and some new ones, as well!
  • The Worship leaders can see you, and know that you are worshipping with them; it's incredibly hard to lead worship when you are looking at the unblinking eye of a camera. Our worship leaders have been doing a great job of it so far, and our hope is that this helps them out even more
  • You have more control over how you see things: don't need the words for the songs? Would rather have them smaller, and the faces of your co-worshippers a little bigger? If you are on a laptop or computer, you can do that on Zoom (but, unfortunately, we can't do that on the Facebook Stream)
If you join us by Zoom, here are some things you should know:
  • You will be muted when you join--people will be able to see you, and you will be able to see and hear what is going on, but your microphone will be muted until after the service
  • When you first join, you will be in a waiting room; our service host will let you in to the meeting shortly after you join; if you join the meeting prior to the service starting, you will be let in shortly before 10:30
  • You will be able to send public and private text chat messages to other people in the Zoom meeting
So now you have the option: join us for our Facebook Live stream at 10:30 (we start the stream a little early, so you can find it and get yourself set) OR join us by Zoom at 10:30--either way, join us, invite some friends, and let's worship together even while we are apart.

And if you join us on Facebook, you can still join the Virtual Foyer after the service--the Zoom link will be posted in the comments.

One way or another, we look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday!
