In this conversation, Tom and Bindu describe how learning the universe story has allowed high school and college students to experience an expanded sense of self and to transform despair into a sense of hope and empowerment.
Earlier this year, our friends at Duke Kunshan University produced the school's first mass-participation art project - an illuminated, nighttime campus procession along a route in the shape of the Big Dipper constellation.
The project was organized by student researchers in the Planetary Ethics and Artificial Intelligence Lab to coincide with a visit by Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grim. The art project took place shortly after a screening of the Journey of the Universe film and was attended by freshmen, sophomores and other excited participants.
Hosted by Earth Circle, a grassroots environmental group that studies and brings awareness to many issues that affect our Earth, including plastic pollution, pollinator loss, sulfide mining, fossil fuels and climate change.
