LA BURNING MAN
OCTOBER 30 2019

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all staying safe from the fires! It's only fun when it's intentional.

If you weren't there with us, last week our San Diego neighbors hosted their first desert YOUtopia in Kern County. I had an amazing time and it was lovely to see so many faces from all over Southern California and beyond. This newsletter is short and sweet because, frankly, I'm still catching up on rest.

More fun coming up! Venice Afterburn is happening all weekend, so be sure to stop by. BEquinox grant, effigy, and theme camp placement applications are now open. Save the date for Blissmas so you can vote for your favorite projects!

As always, email your questions, comments, photos of your art or other awesome projects, or burner-adjacent events to LA@burningman.org.

BLISSMAS: BEQUINOX GRANTS & EFFIGY VOTING

Are you an artist or theme camp who wants to bring a project to BEquinox 2020? Blissmas is your key to getting funding for your art piece or theme camp.

Our annual Blissmas event is your chance to apply for a grant, recruit collaborators, and mingle with fellow burners and artists. Think of it like a "burner science fair." Each project presents a rendering, model, or other sample of your project, and the community votes on art grant recipients. You'll also have a chance to vote on the 2020 effigy. You *must* attend Blissmas to be eligible for a BEquinox grant.

APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN:
