JANUARY 12 2019
Hello and welcome to January!

As we all come out of our holiday hibernation, I hope you're starting to make your preparations for BEquinox 2020—including setting your alarm for the general ticket sale tomorrow! We're loving seeing your projects coming to life through planning, fundraisers, and early building.

If you've been looking for more ways to get involved in the LA burner community and help steer the conversation about local events, please consider running for a LALA board position. Read below for more information about our local non-profit and how you can join the Board and serve the LA Burning Man community.

In other news: the 2020 Burning Man Temple is a beauty, Decom in Long Beach is a go for 2020, and BEquinox projects want your support!

From the Burning Man Journal:

Burning Man Arts is thrilled to announce that we have selected the 2020 Temple: “Empyrean” by Laurence “Renzo” Verbeck and Sylvia Adrienne Lisse.

Every year, we explore a spectrum of design submissions from our community’s artists and builders, and we approach our decision with the goal of creating a special physical space on playa for Black Rock City’s citizens to share their reflections.

Empyrean was chosen for its lovely geometry and inclusive design, as well as for its strong leads and crew who have demonstrated the experience, integrity and feasibility necessary to create this unique space. We can’t wait to see their vision come to life!

As we're all painfully aware, taking beautiful art and fun theme camps to burns costs real money in the default world. Your local artists are working hard to make some amazing projects happen for BEquinox and Burning Man 2020. If you're able, please consider contributing a bit of your time, money, or other resources to a project that speaks to you. We'll continue posting project fundraisers, events, parties, and other requests for support. If you're one of the artists or theme camp leaders, please send us your info!
