Hi there!

I don't know about everyone else, but I am SO ready for spring and summer. Luckily it feels like spring is just around the corner, and weather for BEquinox is looking beautiful! We're still expecting high winds so please plan your infrastructure accordingly.

We're also excited to announce two new LALA board members. Thanks to everyone who voted!

Read on for some fun participation opportunities at BEquinox and in Black Rock City.

In case you missed it.. BEquinox is in a new location this year! We’ve put together a survival guide to give you all the info on our new home and what you can expect there. Please take a look and make sure you’re prepared. See you in the desert!

Somewhere amongst all the BEquinox planning, we had board elections! The LA Burning Man community had to select two new Los Angeles League of Arts (LALA) board members from an amazing group of individuals. We had 385 voting participants. That’s darn good!

Your new members of the Board are: John Marston and Noelle Stransky.

John Marston aka Stark
John is a four-year Burner. He has participated with several BM theme camp and volunteered at LA Decom and BEquinox. John is currently a Regional Contact. John has participated on Boards in the past, TED Talks, and currently runs a company of his own. John brings Accounting, Marking, Website Development, General Management and Event Production skills to the table. John is passionate about working with and volunteering for the LA Community.

Noelle Stransky aka Christmas
Noelle is a seven-year Burner. She has participated with several BM theme Camps and volunteered at LA Decom and BEquinox. Noelle is currently the webmaster for the website and is interested in working to update other Los Angeles Burning Man\Los Angeles League of Arts websites. Noelle brings website tech, project management, graphic design, team building and art skills to the table. Noelle would love to take her skills and keep doing what she is doing and share them with the LA Community.

Congratulations to you both!

Nebulosity is looking for  environmentalists, oceanographers, nutritionists. We want to educate! Our H2U is all about H2O. We're doing talks about hydration so let's talk about how to stay hydrated at festivals, how to stay water conscious, what about global warming & how it affects us all & what can we do now to prepare for the future. Do you know about Dr. Masaru Emoto's & his water molecule experiment?!?

Nebulosity is looking for more people to help us educate at our H2University. Please contact us to volunteer to speak on any of these topics or if there's a subject we should include.

Black Rock City Repertory Theatre will be holding auditions soon for its 2019 season. Last year's productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream and As You Like It were a great success, and we're looking forward to sharing more stories this year.

Any interested LA-based actors, designers, stage managers, and theatre crew members can send their resumes to

Photos from last year can be found at:

We are compiling a list of theme camps and art projects that are seeking volunteers. Theme camp leaders and artists, please fill out this form if you’d like us to post your opportunities for community members who’d like to get involved.

*You don’t have to be an “official” theme camp or project to fill this out -- if you’re just looking for collaborators on a project and want to see who’s out there, go ahead and fill out the survey. The goal is to create a publicly available database of volunteer and collaboration opportunities so people can quickly and easily find each other and plug into the projects that speak to their particular interests and skills.
