Hello beautiful burners!

It's summer (despite this June Gloom that's bumming me out) -- do you know where your Burning Man supplies are??

For those of you who have been looking for camps to join or projects to work on, and for those camps or projects still seeking assistance, please fill out our Theme Camp Matchmaking Survey below so we can help facilitate those connections. The LA burner community is HUGE, but with your help we want to make it feel smaller and more connected. We're so excited that you're all out there doing wonderful, creative, badass things - let's make sure we support each other!

Lots of opportunities to connect coming up, so read on. As always, feel free to hit me up directly at with any submissions or questions, or to reach all of us at once.

This past weekend - June 2, 2018 to be exact - a Dedication Ceremony was held near California City.
The newly purchased 153 acres was christened Seraphim Ranch.

This was the next baby step towards the future use of this land, purchased on April 20, 2018 by the Los Angeles League of Arts(LALA), the non-profit entity for the Los Angeles Burning Man Community.

You may be asking yourself, “What does this mean for us as a greater LA Burner? What can we do with this parcel of land? How will this benefit the community?” The answers will unfold slowly, over a period of time. We’re a long way from defining exactly what will happen with this land, but it is not too early to begin dreaming of the potential. We’re inspired by this milestone and hope you are too. At this stage there are simply more questions than answers.

What we do know is this: the purchase of this land opens the door to new possibilities, new cultural experiments, art, and innovative projects on a larger scale. We also know that community participation will be essential.  This will be a collaborative endeavor requiring a vast array of skills, ideas, and contributions.  It is a canvas that we can all paint upon in the years ahead.

In the coming months and years (because honestly, projects of this magnitude take time), there will be many opportunities to participate as we become stewards of this land.  We will need your time, energy, expertise, and ideas. Of course, this project will also need financial support to realize and explore new ideas, if you feel inspired to contribute financial support, we can accept your Tax Deductible donations via PayPal:

In the coming weeks, months, and years there will be more information and ways for you to join the conversation and participate in this shared experience.

If you have questions, please email them to

Thank you for your support!

Theme camps and artists! We are conducting a survey to update our records of people who are involved with theme camps, art cars and art installations and those people that want to volunteer time to help with these projects.

We are hoping to be able to connect burners that want to give something with people and projects that need that gift. We hope to be able to respond to everyone that completes this form.

We plan to share the contact information of Art Projects and Theme Camps with individuals.  Individuals can then reach out to Art Projects and Theme Camps. We will NOT share the contact information of individuals with the Art Projects and Theme Camps - we are leaving that up to you!

Please fill out the survey here. Can't wait to see you and all your amazing work on the playa in a few months!
