The full-resolution 2018 MOOP map is out. How did your camp do?

If you want a refresher or have a newbie friend who wants to learn more about LNT, here are some important tips on MOOP and effectively cleaning up your camp.

Did you know all the Burning Man theme stickers are designed by participants like you? Every year Burning Man chooses 10-15 designs and print hundreds of thousands of stickers to give away freely on the playa, including one as the officially-unofficial “Greeter Sticker” each Burner receives as they enter our dusty city.

So if you’re interested in seeing your sticker design materialize in the desert, here’s what to do:

Design Specs
Your design(s) will need to be one of three die sizes:

  • 3” diameter circle
  • 2.5″ x 5.75” with a 0.125” corner radius
  • 3″x 3″ square with a 0.062” corner radius

If using 1–3 colors, set up the file to print as PMS. If using 4 or more colors, set up the file to print as CMYK.

Designer Tips ‘n’ Tricks

  • Round stickers are given priority for being selected as the coveted “Greeter Sticker.”
  • Include “Burning Man” or “Black Rock City” and the year 2019 in your design to get extra awesome brownie points.
  • Incorporate the theme. Or don’t. It’s your sticker. But the Greeter Sticker almost always coordinates with the theme. Also, the theme is Metamorphoses. Not Metamorphosis.

Submitting Your Art

  • Send either a PDF file OR (preferably) the original Adobe Illustrator (.ai) file to
  • Whether sending your design or questions, please put your first and last name in the subject header as well as the phrase “2019 Sticker Submission.”

The deadline is Monday, May 13. No art can be accepted after this date!

More info here.

As a fully participatory event, Burning Man depends on every Black Rock City citizen to help build the city, keep it running, and populate it with amazing art and activities. Volunteering with a city department is a great way to live some of the Ten Principles (Civic Responsibility, Participation, Leave No Trace, Gifting..) and give back to the city that gives us so much. If you've never volunteered on playa before, read the Volunteer FAQ, then check out the variety of opportunities available and fill out the Volunteer Questionnaire to get more info.

Are you going to Burning Man for the first time? Our newbie orientations are a fantastic way to get your questions answered and learn how to stay alive and have a great time on the playa. There will be 3-4 of these events at a variety of locations around the city—dates and places to be announced soon!

We will also be holding a *costume swap* at one of the orientations, so start collecting the playawear you're bored with and come grab something new! All leftover clothes will be donated at the end of the event. We'll make another announcement when we have a set date and location.
