We stand together with the families of our brothers and sisters in South Africa, who have lost their loved ones and wish the injured quick recovery. We as Africans are in control of our own destiny, and this is to provide an Integrated, Prosperous, People-Centered and Peaceful Africa. We cannot achieve this by turning against each other in times of tragedy. We have to change this tale.

Ghana YMCA to increase youth investment through concert.

AAYMCA SOCIAL ENTERPRISE TRAINING MANUAL VALIDATION WORKSHOP
Africa Alliance of YMCAs on 29th and 30th August 2019 held a social enterprise training manual validation workshop with youth and staff from Kenya YMCA. The workshop was held at Kenya YMCA. The main objective was to review the draft training manual and come to consensus on the activities to be included in the training manual. The Social Enterprise (SE) Manual will be useful in making young people become active in building their local movements within African YMCAs....Find out more

The Powerspace 3i
Co-creation Workshop At Ethiopia YMCA

Between August 19 and August 23, the AAYMCA conducted a workshop in Ethiopia with a focus on youth and staff perspectives towards Powerspaces at the YMCA Centres. The research recommendations from Ethiopia YMCA included the setting up of a robust powerspace methodology for youth community engagement. The first step in this strategy was training Youth and Staff from YMCA branches in Ethiopia on how to implement sustainable powerspaces, using the 3I Co-creation model. Their role will be to go back to their branches and carry out the same 3I co-creation worshops, thats focused on the four areas of the powerspace and come up with an implementation plan, of ideal powerspaces that suit their target youth. 
Online Bullying Destroys Lives and Families

Many lives have been destroyed in our communities as a result of online bullying. According to AAYMCA Gender based violence survey conducted last year in Kenya and Zambia, study conducted between December 2016 and February 2017 shows that 37.9% and 44.3% of respondents agreed that social media (Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Dating sites) and SMS platforms are unsafe for women and girls. These and other results show that there is widespread harassment taking place online and therefore there is need to act fast in addressing this...Find out more
