National Volunteer Appreciation Week was April 7-13, 2019 and we wanted to give a special shout-out to some of our amazing volunteers!
Here at SFOF, we have many great volunteers, many who have been with us 10+ years! We cannot say enough about our dedicated, hardworking volunteers. The care they give our cats in the shelter, making it the best possible (hopefully) short term stays with us. The fosters who take care of our smallest charges with round the clock bottle feedings and love. Our dedicated thrift store ladies who always make the store welcoming and beautiful. I can’t tell you how many people are surprised it’s a thrift store!
We did want to give a special shout out to some of our youngest volunteers who partnered with us through the Salem Keizer Schools. Gabby, Grace, and Natalie have been dedicated volunteers in the shelter and thrift store this school year. Not only do they earn school credit for their volunteer time but they also learn valuable work skills.
We want to thank our new young volunteers and encourage them to keep volunteering within their community. What great young adults! It's been a pleasure to get to know and work with them!
