Dear JCI Members and Friends,
Well, we’ve made it through January and if our events line-up for February is anything to go by, then we’ve got quite a year ahead of us! Yet before we get to that, I would like to look back at some of our January achievements.

New for JCI Scotland, we held a board training day for all JCI members in Scotland. This was a jam-packed information session and discussion facilitated by Immediate Past President Steven Crawford and National President Katie Black.

We can’t wait to see how our national, local and project teams put all this learning into action!

Let’s continue to be one team…and remember, teamwork makes the dream work!
It was great to see so many members and past members from across Scotland attend JCI Edinburgh’s Burns night, and even some from overseas! Featuring bagpipes, traditional Burns speeches and poems, dancing, cocktails and so much more…it was truly an online experience to remember!
January also featured our first JCI Scotland National Board meeting of 2021. It’s such an honour for me to lead this awesome team and to see them take this new experience in their stride. JCI really is all about learning, even at a leadership level!

Special thanks to JCI Glasgow member, Lynn, who embraced the opportunity to learn more about the JCI Scotland National Board and our activities by being the minute-taker for our January meeting.

This new initiative aims to help our members understand more about what happens at the JCI Scotland level, see first-hand what our board discussions are like and maybe even get the chance to let us know their thoughts on a particular discussion point.

Our next JCI Scotland Board Meeting will be in March 2021, so I’m on the lookout for our next volunteer…could it be you?
And then for our last big event of January, we co-hosted Kickstart 2021 with JCI UK, JCI Ireland and JCI Malta. We had over 75 JCI members from across these 4 countries join this inspiring, motivational and collaborative day. Special thanks to JCI Scotland Engagement Director Laird Smith for hosting the evening social!
Now, as we move into February, it’s clear that we are maintaining the momentum we built last month to bring you a fabulous array of events. There is truly something for everyone!

You can find more information about each event on the JCI Scotland website and on the Local Organisation Facebook pages.

Remember, no matter which JCI Local Organisation you are a member of, you are welcome at all events across Scotland and internationally. So get out there, network and learn!
To round up this February newsletter, I’d like to draw your attention to an additional source of income for JCI Scotland….Easyfundraising! As the name suggests, this is an easy way for you to raise donations for JCI Scotland whenever you shop online!
Take me to Easyfundraising
That’s it from me for now. You know where I am if you would like a chat about opportunities for you in JCI or just need a friendly face to speak to.
All the best,

JCI Scotland 2021 National President
