Weekly Update, June 25, 2021
Dear Friends,
Summer 2021 is shaping up to be much better than summer 2020.  Families and friends are gathering and people are starting to travel again.  Last summer we were not able to gather for worship in our sanctuary, but we did gather at our historic Meeting House Springs Cemetery for evening vespers, which was a wonderful way to connect as a congregation and worship God.
This year we are able to worship together on the Square on Sunday mornings as we have for more than 250 years.  But because Evening Vespers was so popular last summer, we’re going to continue it this summer on the fourth Sundays of June, July, August, and September at Meeting House Springs.  I hope you’ll join us this Sunday (June 27) at 7:00pm as we sing and pray and praise God in the place where our ancestors established this congregation in 1734.
Directions are included below.  Please bring a lawn chair or blanket.  You might also want to bring bug spray and a bottle of water.  In case of rain the service will be cancelled.
                                                                          Pastor Tony

As a reminder, at its June meeting, the Church Session made the following changes to in-person worship guidelines:
  • Fully vaccinated individuals do not need to wear a mask inside the church building.  Vaccinated individuals may continue to wear a mask if they so choose.
  • Unvaccinated individuals should continue to wear a mask.
  • The congregation will resume singing all hymns and responses.
  • All pews will now be open for worshippers to use.  There is plenty of space in the sanctuary to spread out.
  • The plexiglass barriers will be removed from the pulpit and chancel.
