Sign up now for the AREA 21 Energy District Webinars and Resources

Dear friends of AREA 21,
During the last 3 years, the AREA 21 consortium worked in close cooperation with their local stakeholders to establish future-oriented energy planning at the district level. As the project comes to an end, we are hosting a webinar series to present and discuss the results and further needs and potentials for cooperative energy planning.
Join us for webinars on three main topics:

Energy Improvement Districts: An Instrument for Local Cooperation on Energy Efficiency (01 September 2020 - 14:00-15:30 CET)

Participants can learn about the EID concept, benefits of collaborative energy planning and its implementation. A panel offers the opportunity for the audience to discuss with our project partners about their first hand experiences.

Strategic Energy Planning in Urban Districts From a Policy Perspective (08 September 2020 - 14:00-15:30 CET)

Participants can learn about favourable policies on energy planning, including instruments of risk management. We invited keynote speakers from the Union of Baltic Cities, STRING network, and EFFECTS4buildings. The audience will have the opportunity to discuss with the experts.

Developing ICT Tools for District-Scale Smart Energy Management (15 September 2020 - 14:00-15:30 CET)

Participants can learn about useful digital tools and instruments for energy improvement and will have the opportunity to discuss and exchange about district-level energy planning with our experts and ICT tool developers.

About AREA 21

AREA 21 is a three-year transnational project in cooperation with 10 partner organisations from the Baltic Sea Region. The project seeks to pilot Energy Improvement Districts through the strategic planning and implementation of energy efficient solutions. The process is underpinned by collaborative stakeholder engagement, bringing together public authorities, energy providers, property owners and citizens. Through this engagement the project seeks to understand citizens’ motives and barriers to energy use, and how to activate relevant players in urban neighbourhoods to bring about change.
