LINK ME UP SCOTTY!

Happy Friday people,
Life got in the way of links last week, but we're back with another dose of things I found interesting and inspiring from around the internet. Enjoy!
  1. Album streams:
    1. Dry Cleaning: ‘New Long Leg’ is a delightful post-punk poetry – rock hooks and sardonic monologues, delivered in a dry, British manner.
    2. Nils Frahm: ‘Graz’ is a lost record from his early years – stunning piano compositions and such raw feeling created with minimal instrumentation.
    3. Floating Points & Pharoah Sanders: ‘Promises’ is a gorgeous collaboration between producer, saxophonist and The London Symphony Orchestra.
  2. Shorts: All the shorts from this SXSW. My fave is Sales Per Hour (7 mins)
  3. Corkscrews: Great essay on corkscrews, unwanted items and 'future trash'.
  4. Gradation: Beautifully edited film exploring visual gradations (2 mins)
  5. Sounds: Drum machine that creates beats using sounds of everyday things.
  6. Animals: Smart piece about why humans should embrace our animal nature.
  7. Carpets: Quirky film about some low-level carpet store employees pushed to breaking point after a freak occurrence (22 mins).
  8. Exercise: Excellently entertaining journey through the history of working out.
  9. Drawing: Oscar Ukonu draws incredible monochrome photorealistic portraits.
  10. VFX: Exceptional showcase of hypnotic, fantastical VFX compositions (1 min).
  11. Nature: Interesting article on ecological relationships and why bees love cats.
  12. Time: Fascinating video essay about our perception of time (8 mins)
  13. Art: The Louvre has put its entire collection of art online.
In case you missed it – the most popular link last time was this wonderful film capturing the casual joy of skateboarding (26 mins)
Link Me Up Scotty is a labor of love. So if you enjoy it, please spread the love by sharing with other like-minded people or posting on social media using this link.

Have a great weekend.
Ryan
