Happy Friday people,
Here's a load of lovely links to things I found interesting and inspiring from around the internet this week – and hope you do too. Enjoy!

  2. Balance: Amazing dance performed whilst balanced on a bicycle (2 mins).
  3. Russet: Great essay on russet – color of oak leaves, foxes, poverty & potatoes.
  4. Dialogue: Excellent one-shot film charting a conversation between two women meandering through the sun-kissed hills of morning LA (7 mins)
  5. Subway: This digital, live map of NYC’s Subway lets you see the movement (and stalling) of trains on each line in real time.
  6. DJ: Mesmerising stop-motion of 660 images of a DJ’s performances captured over 4 years and stitched into a seamless scene (1 min)
  7. Moomins: A lovely piece about visiting the Finnish landscapes that inspired Tove Jansson to create Moominland and those adorable hippo-like trolls.
  8. Plastic: Clever and well produced, yet heartbreaking mockumentary narrated by Morgan Freeman, about the ocean's newest species: plastic waste (2 mins)
  9. Elephants: Neat article about elephants and their impact on carbon capture.
  10. Pixels: Mattis Dovier produces breathtaking monochrome pixel animations.
  11. Olympics: Nice rotoscope animation celebrating the Winter Olympics (1 min).
  12. Fall: Satirical piece about Fall, the season that seems to last just a few days
  13. Sausages: A brief, yet comprehensive history of sausages (3 mins)
  14. Collage: Frank Moth creates fabulous, atmospheric digital collages featuring floral and space imagery, that are simultaneously nostalgic and futuristic.
  15. Preacher: Suspenseful film where a healer's fraud gets exposed (17 mins)
  16. Chipmunk: This heartwarming story about a food writer who opened a restaurant for a chipmunk is as adorable as it sounds (yes there are photos).
  17. Ultra-Running: Powerful and inspiring documentary following Rickey Gates, an ultra-runner, as he journeys 3700 miles across America (74 mins)
In case you missed it – the most popular link last week was this painstakingly edited film of bike tricks with bike removed (1 min)
