Downtown Victoria's Business Buzz: What you need know when doing business in downtown Victoria.

Today the Premier announced BC’s plan for the gradual re-opening of the Province and our economy. This is welcome news.

Of course, many questions remain, and the financial pressures that have mounted over the last few months have not disappeared, nor will recovery be rapid. However, our combined efforts to flatten the curve appear to have been successful. There is reason for optimism!

Over the coming few weeks, guidelines from the Provincial Health Officer and WorkSafe BC will be released specific to various sectors of the economy. The DVBA will monitor this constantly and send out any updates as they occur.
In addition, we are pivoting our marketing efforts to promoting downtown as a key destination for Victorians to visit. We will stress the importance of supporting our local economy, and that our businesses are operating in a fully safe manner that protects both employees and the public.
If you are open, or are planning to open in any fashion, please let us know at so we can include you in our updated business directory. As always, if there are any ideas you have, or issues you feel need addressing, please reach out to me. We continue to be laser focussed on ensuring you, our members, remain whole through this situation.
