WriteMentor Summer Programme 2021

YES! It's that time of year where we begin to build towards the summer programme, although in truth organisation for that started for me back in October!

We have some developments this year, and to acknowledge the vast growth of the programme, we've got a small group of volunteers to form a committee to help organise things this year.

One voice is unable to reflect the full diversity of our writing community and for that reason, while still being the primary weight-bearer of the programme, we have a great group of people to help out this time.

Please note, we are now accepting applications from those would like to mentor this summer. Link on the page below.

Final word from...

Oh, not him again!
A New Hope
As always happens when the calendar resets, when the needle returns to the start of the song, we begin to look forward to the forthcoming year with A New Hope!

Let's be honest, 2020 was a bit of a Rogue One, right? The virus that came into our world like a Phantom Menace this time last year and developed into the pandemic that we are still living in the midst of. And now the virus has mutated and replicated into a new variant, like an Attack of the Clones...

Fortunately with WriteMentor, the Force Awakens, and you don't have to write through this period completely Solo. No need to be the Last Jedi. No, now is the time for the Return of the Jedi ways. You may say, it's the Rise of Skywalker(s) everywhere. Yes, we are all Luke and Leia, Anakin and Padme, and even Rey?

The Jedi use their powers to defend and protect, never to attack others. Jedi respect all life, in any form. Jedi serve others, rather than rule over them, for the good of the galaxy. Jedi seek to improve themselves through knowledge and training.

And this year, we have so many new ways to improve your knowledge, to train to become a better writer. We have a Hub with modules and resources, live webinars and recorded workshops and a community based environment, which will mean you can help yourself, but can also serve others via critique groups and channels for chatting.

Don't let the Empire Strike Back in 2021, and district your creative flow - stick with WriteMentor and we'll put on even more opportunities than Yoda's midi-chlorian count. (which is big, non-Star Wars's BIG!)

Let's go Mando on this year, and make sure we Lando on the right path, the one that vears from the Dark Side, and the Revenge of the Sith, and moves towards will make sure we all achieve those writing goals.

Writing can be lonely, but it doesn't need to be.

May the Force be with you,
