TCV Weekly News: 9th January 2020
New Year Newsletter

Kia ora koutou

Happy New Year to you all, I know a lot of you haven't gone back to work yet so for those of you that are seeing this late hope you had a nice extended holiday. It's a new year and I am so excited to work properly with you all in the coming months, we have our first network meeting of the year on the 10th February 2020 in the Council Chambers at the Gisborne District Council.

The video series I am hoping to get up and running when all our organisations are back for the new year.

Our Facebook posts lately have been doing very well, our collaboration posts with member organisations for Motivational Monday have been the most viewed which is great to see that we are getting out there in the social community. We had close to 1500 views in the month of December so please remember for our full member organisations you can use this to advertise events. Email me with your content and I will post them up there for you.

Lastly, the newsletters over the next couple months are going to have some new content, in the slower period of January I have been writing some blog posts to help motivate and organise your new year, some tips and tricks to best utilise programmed you use at work and other topics similar to that. I really hope you find these beneficial and share them around your network. The best way to see them all will be via our website under the blog tab. I will be adding a new one in each newsletter and it will be up soon after the newsletter release on the website. I am open to any feedback or topic suggestions if there is a particular tool you would like to better utilise or know about.

4 Ways to organise your back to work-life 2020

 1. One minute chores
Feeling stressed? No time to do everything that needs doing around the house in the morning?
One minute chores could be for you.
You would think that one minute wouldn't make a difference to your list but here are some jobs you can do in one minute or less.
- Dust the TV
- Change the Vacuum bag
- Sort the mail
- Clear toys off the floor
- Change the trash bag
- Wipe the bench
- File some paperwork

2. Chalkboard Family Organiser

Big family? Lots of kids to keep track of?
Create yourself a chalkboard family planner, on a wall or the fridge.
You could track the Weekly Meals, After School activities, Shopping List, to-do list.
Whatever suits your family.

You can get chalkboard paint from Bunning's if you need a large wall planner or you can get chalkboard plastic sheeting from the warehouse or two dollar shop.
If you cant get either a window works all the same with window chalk markers.

3. Bullet Journal/Diary/Planner

 4. Use a budgeting tool.
Want to track your incomes and expenditures?
Achieve your savings goal this year by starting early.
A great tool for learning more about budgeting and finances is
Sign up and earn spring coins that work towards real vouchers for Pak N Save, Countdown, Z Energy and Four Square.
