Kia ora koutou

Coming close to the end of the year whanau, Christmas break here we come!

We had a great end of year network meeting and luncheon this week with great attendance and even some new members joining on board. 13 attendees with 8 apologies. We presented Miriam Swarbrick with Life Membership she has made many contributions to the network and its many organisations over the year and we thank her for the contributions she has made. I presented our ' Meet our Member Organisation' Page on our website and it had a great response, with some recommendations from members added in I will showcase the end result at the first meeting of next year on the 10th February 2020. We also discussed our Facebook page, which now gives fully paid members the opportunity to advertise their events on the page. Flick me the info and I will happily add it on for you. We also discussed the new TCV Action Plan for 2020 which you can read more about further down the newsletter, highly recommend you give it a read.

We had a great Catch Up round with a positive outlook moving into 2020, with many member organisation workshops and events coming up in the New Year.

Life Membership- Miriam Swarbrick
At our December Network meeting we presented Miriam Swarbrick with her Life Membership. A secret well kept by Judy meant Miriam was surprised and delighted and so was her daughter Jan.

A summary of Miriam's Contributions is below, provided by Judy Livingston (Life Member)
Immediate Past President of Gisborne Stroke Support for four years. Miriam has had a long involvement with the Gisborne East Coast Council of Social Services (now Tairawhiti Community Voice), Gisborne Friendship force, Gisborne Civil Defense, Poverty Bay Athletics, Central Day Care Centre, establishing the Gisborne Volunteer Centre and Sunshine Service and was Manager of Arohaina Centre for Seniors for 10 years. Her belief in the support of this community is indisputable and her list of accomplishment is long.

We thank Miriam for her endless contributions to the Tairawhiti Community.

Action Plan 2020

The Tairawhiti Community Voice 2020 Action Plan is something new and exciting for our members this year. Coming into this role early November I wanted to create a pathway for myself, with goals to work towards in the new year. It is a 4 page document orginally but I gave out a summarised verision at the network meeting which i have pictured above. If you wish to have a read of the summarised verision or the full the link is attched below.

Our focus for next year are
1. To increase the community visability of Tairawhiti Community Voice, the network and its members
2. Improve our Facebook audience
3. Better our Newsletter and its repsonses
4. Improve network meeting attendance
5. Gain new members
