The first two phases of the Synodal process are complete. The first phase was the “Diocesan” listening phase. You may recall that the Wheaton Franciscans and IBVM communities facilitated listening sessions and sent a report to the Diocese of Joliet and the Secretariat of the Synod in Rome.
Phase two was the synthesis phase of the Dioceses, Episcopal Conferences, and Synods of Oriental Churches.
We have added two documents to our website that are outcomes of phases one and two –
From September 21 until October 2, a group will meet near Rome to draft the Document for the Continental Stage. The General Secretariat of the Synod writes, “After carefully analyzing the fruit of your discernment, these representatives of the People of God will, in turn, carry out a discernment to grasp what the Spirit wants to suggest to the Church.” Please continue to pray for this significant movement within the Church.
