Ciao!

Hey friends, sorry I'm late... I was in Rome!! Also I'm chronically late! But mostly was in Rome!!!

Rue Cremieux
Pre-Rome I was feeling a little bummed out so I went exploring for some yellow walls -- they always make me feel a little better. Found this baby on Rue Cremieux, a road known throughout the 'gram for it's painted facades.

Musée Marmottan Monet

Also while still in Paris I went to see the world's largest collection of Monet paintings!! The room pictured here was curved and lined with studies of nature, so if you stood in the center it almost felt like laying in Monet's garden yourself. I visited the museum with my Impressionism class (which is quickly proving to be my favorite).

The Colosseum

Next stop... you guessed it! I landed in Italy with my roommate early Friday morning, dropped my things at the hostel & headed straight for the ancient ruins. Here's a picture she caught of me absolutely losing it at the view from the top of the ancient amphitheater. As excited as I was to go to the Forum & Colosseum, they still managed to surpass all my expectations. My biggest takeaway (no pun intended): everything is HUGE.

Cucina del Teatro

Anddddd a recap of Rome would not be complete without mention of the food! I haven't had pasta this good since my great-grandmother cooked for us on Sunday nights. This photo was of my last dinner in Italy -- homemade eggplant ravioli with tomato sauce, olives, and parmesan. We ate outside in a vine-covered passageway and listened to the sing-songy Italian conversation and bells from St. Peter's Basilica. HUGE thank you to Connor Duffy for the recommendation (and so many others who helped make my trip perfect!).

Thanks for reading everyone, and happy Monday!!! Talk soon!

XOXO,
Abby
