Remember Me???

Good morning & happy Monday, east coast!! Did you miss me? Apologies for the delay -- we have lots to catch up on so let's get right into it.

Bonjour Brian!
Two Fridays ago my Bri guy came to visit!! He flapped his wings all the way across the Atlantic to see Paris and keep me company on Thanksgiving (more on that later).

Avignon & Arles

On the left is me and Brian en route to southern France (sorry Brian). We stayed in a cozy place in Avignon right next to the Palais de Papes, and took a day trip to Van Gogh's former hometown, Arles. Turns out both places are more summer vacation destinations which made for an interesting trip, but we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. My favorite part was stumbling into yet another art institution with works by Cy Twombly, and talking to the book shop cashier who had worked with him on an installation years ago!! Amazing.

Laïzé

Our Thanksgiving started with this here bubble tea. I tried boba for the first time (with Brian!) back in February but didn't like it... but Paris has a way of making everything just a bit sweeter and this time around I loved it. It was odd to have such a "normal" day instead of celebrating the holiday I so look forward to, but we met up with some American friends and gave thanks for our time abroad. The longer I'm away the more I realize that life is a funny combination of making & finding "home."

Thanksgiving

Biscuits are my favorite food, and my self-imposed rule every year at our Thanksgiving table is that everyone has to ask me permission before eating one. People usually obnoxiously eat theirs to make sure I know they're breaking the rules, and this year was no different (not sorry, Olivia). In the strangest of ways, it was nice to know my family was thinking of me, because I surely was thinking of them.

There's a hole in my heart where Thanksgiving belongs so PLEASE fill me in on your holiday! This year, I'm thankful for FaceTime and France.

Always your loving,
Abby
