This virus is putting all of us under a lot of strain. The school was just about as ready as we could be to receive Gr R; 1; 2; 3 and 6, when our plans had to change because the DBE has decided to only allow Gr R and 6 back into the primary schools. The other grades will be phased in gradually over the month of July. These dates will be forwarded to you in due time.
On Monday, 6 July, the Blue Groups for Grades R, 6 and 7 will be welcomed at REPS. The biggest part of the day will be spent to orientate them to the new “new” at the school – even for the Grade 7s who will now not come to school on a daily basis any more. On Tuesday, 7 July, the Red Group will be welcomed in the same fashion.
All the protocols have been sent to our parents during the course of last week; the FAQ document went out on Friday. Please notify the school if you have not received any of these documents which are of paramount interest to a safe and well run school.
It is extremely important that the PARENTS must remember to complete the SCREENING TOOL for each child daily. This is important because the process will prevent a child with possible symptoms to be identified before he/she comes to school.
A set of forms was sent to the schools on Friday afternoon with which parents may apply for learners to NOT come to school. These completed forms must be sent to the WCED upon receipt thereof by the school.
The virus is also now hitting closer to home. As a means of clarity we want to inform the parents of the school that three of the staff members are in isolation because of direct contact with people who tested positive for the virus. The situation gets managed carefully by both the WCED and the COVID Committee of the school.
