Parents/ Guardians, learners and friends…

A hearty welcome back to our last term of 2020. This term is only six weeks and two days short. Let us take hands (figuratively speaking) and make the most of it!
I just want to remind our parents of our Annual Budget Meeting next week, Tuesday, 10 November. This is a very important date on our school calendar because our parents have the opportunity to give their input into the budget and help to make a democratic decision on how to take our school forward financially – especially now during these uncertain times. The Proposed Budget is available from the office for scrutiny. Please contact the school secretary to make the necessary arrangements for that.
I also want to remind all parents of our school photos that are going to be taken during the course of this week:
Tuesday 3 November:       Gr R – Red Group
Wednesday 4 November:  Gr R – Blue Group
Thursday 5 November:      Gr 1 – 7 – Red Group
Friday 6 November:           Gr 1 – 7 – Blue Group
  • During this process, strict COVID 19 rules will apply.
  • Parents have a choice to send their children in school uniform or in civvies.
The end of year Assessment Timetable will go out during the course of this week. It is of the utmost importance that parents remember to get a medical certificate if your child is sick on one of these days that they are writing. We will use the same concept of last term where all the children in a grade write on the same day.

Included in a newsletter last term you received a link to our Food Hamper Voucher Raffle – another attempt from the school’s side at fundraising to subsidize the shortfall in the payment of school fees caused by the Corona Virus.  We appeal to our parents to approach various people from the community to help to support this fundraiser. A hard copy was also included in the reports of the learners, so you had the whole holiday to convince people to support a worthy cause and stand a chance to win something special for the end of year holiday season! Some parents already requested of these tickets and we want to thank them sincerely for always being ready to help when help is needed.
Please do your utmost best to support us in this venture.

A letter from Mrs M Gaffoor, Treasurer of our School Governing Body, was included. This is an appeal for help from our parents with another fundraiser where the public is targeted. She will meet with all interested parents via a Zoom Meeting. All the details are supplied in her letter. Help in any form will be greatly appreciated.
