As you will all know by now, we are at school and preparing on different levels to receive our Gr 7 learners back at school. We are doing everything humanly possible to make the school a safe area to come back to.
The three Gr 7 classes will be split into 6 classrooms. They will have different timetables to before lockdown and the will be working according to a Trimmed Curriculum. In short that means that the most crucial work will be dealt with. (This will again change when the next grade comes to school).
A full Guideline will be emailed to all the Grade 7 parents during the course of next week. It is therefore of the utmost importance that the correct information must be supplied to the teachers who will be calling all the parents in the week coming.
Parents must also please take note that they will not be allowed to enter the school premises. This is done for safety reasons.
There are parents with different levels of expectations from the school and the teaching staff. Please bear in mind that when schools closed on 20 March, the lockdown had not yet been announced. Teachers expected to be back at school on 14 April and did not take all their resources with them. They up to now had to work under very difficult circumstances and I am really very proud of what they had managed to achieve.
The learners with serious comorbidities that we are aware of will be contacted individually to discuss the way forward.
As there were a few requests for the work to be sent earlier, we have managed to move that as well as the REPS News to a Sunday.
