On Friday our school was decontaminated by a team appointed by the WCED. We are ready to receive our Grade 7 learners into the school. The Gr 7 parents have all received the necessary information on where to take the children and what will happen from there on.
For the start learners will be allowed to wear either school uniform or civvies because we are aware that not all learners have more than one uniform and as these clothes will have to be washed daily, it may not be ready for the next day. Winter is also approaching fast so the drying of the clothes will take longer.
Two sick rooms have been prepared – one for the normal run of the day injuries, etc and one for learners who show possible signs of the virus. Strict social distancing will be adhered to in these venues and learners will not be kept there for the whole day. Parents must please be available on short notice to come and fetch a child.
The lessons will still be made available to parents through the website, the REPS News and D6 Communicator. For the Grade 7s these lessons will be similar to the lessons taught in the classes.
Grade 7 Parents please remember to complete the screening tool for your child before you come to school. This information gets recorded and studied daily in order to pick up anything out of the ordinary.
We are finalizing the first round of applications for Grade R and 1. It will be recorded on the Departmental system early this week and will be available for parents towards the end of the week. The parents must them indicate on the system whether accept or not. Then we will start filling the vacancies left by parents who did not accept.
Have a wonderful week. Stay safe.
