Parents/ Guardians, learners and friends…

A warm good morning greeting on a cold winter’s day. I trust that you are still all warm, cozy, safe and healthy.
School starts next Monday, 24 August, for the rest of our learnerseven though the Grade 7’s have started last week Tuesday already.

Grade 7 Work

We have sent out all the processes a while back (TREPS Document) i.e the Blue group and the RED group, drop off points and times etc. We will send a revised version of this document as well as the BLUE and RED  class lists to you again by tomorrow (Tuesday). So please contact us if you have not received it by Wednesday. Please do this by sending an email to your child’s class teacher.
We start on Monday, 24 August, with the BLUE GROUP.
A few things to remember:
  • PLEASE USE THE SCHOOL’S SCREENING TOOL DAILY! We want to identify learners with possible symptoms before they enter the school grounds. We will put a hard copy in this REPS News so that you can put it on your fridge and check daily. We want to thank you in advance for your co-operation.
  • We will start with Term 3, Week 1 of the curriculum work. This means that the work of Term 2 will be incorporated in the Term 3 planning. There are strict guidelines from NDBE (National) what the work must entail.
  • Because of all the date changes, our Assessment Planner had to change a few times over the last few months. We are currently working on a new one according to DBE instructions. This planner will be made available during the course of next week.
  • Very Important: All assessments must be done at the school. Therefore this Assessment Planner is of the utmost importance to all learners and parents so that those learners who have applied to work from home can also make the necessary arrangements to come in to school for the assessments. NB: Learners who have been granted permission to be schooled from home as per WCED, will need to do their assessments at school.
  • Last term we have handed out booklets but we discovered that that is not financially viable. It works out too costly. Therefore, the work planned will mostly come from the textbooks that we made available to all learners from Grades 4 to Grade 7 last term.
  • It is of the utmost importance that the learners must be fetched at the arranged times. Due to the extra strain that COVID prevention strategies is placing on the workload of our staff, we do not have staff to look after learners who may be waiting for older siblings coming out later. Since all the venues (classes, offices, hall, etc) are being cleaned after dismissal, there is no place for these learners to wait either. We do realise that this situation can cause problems for parents, but this is the year of creative thinking and we do request that parents must please make the necessary arrangements.
The School Calendar for the rest of the year has also changed.
  • Term 3 ends on Friday, 23 October 2020.
  • Term 4 starts on Monday, 2 November 2020.
  • Term 4 ends on Tuesday,15 December 2020.
School Fees: This is another very urgent appeal to our parents to please pay their school fees. We need these payments to be able to meet our monthly commitments. We are aware of the fact that many parents have gone back or soon will be back at work. Please prioritise the payment of your fees for the benefit of the school.
As many of you will be aware of, Mrs Gaffoor, our SGB Treasurer, organized a raffle to help with fundraising for the school. This draw took place last Monday and the winners are as follows:
1st Prize – R2000 voucher form Cavendish Square:     Ms Nawaal Gamieldien
2nd Prize – 2 tickets for the RED BUS:                             Ms Catherine de Villiers
3rd Prize – Voucher at Woodies for a Family Meal:            Ms Mubeena Ebrahim
Have a safe week.
REPS greetings
Mrs F Bröcker
