A very good day to you all during Stage 4 of lockdown. Firstly I want to apologise for the gremlin that was active with the newsletter of last week. In my attempt to give you the freshest, latest news from the WCED as far as the schooling lockdown is concerned, I missed the bus!
As you all will know by now, certain dates have been indicated for the gradual reopening of schools. Even this is not a definite anymore as there is the possibility of a court case against the decisions of the DBE. At our school this will only happen when we are satisfied that we are able to adhere to all the safety regulations required as well as according to our normal high standards.
If all goes well, the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be delivered during the course of this week and training and cleaning will then commence.
The usual arrangement with regards to lessons and communication via the newsletter will remain the same.
We are also planning to send all parents a survey in due time to complete and will appreciate your speedy co-operation in this regard. The information that we will be able to gather through this survey will help as at great lengths with our planning for the rest of the year.
Please keep in mind that this is new territory for all of us. We do not have past experience to have learnt from. Mistakes will be made, but these will all be honest mistakes. We all experience a level of fear, albeit all for different reasons.
To all our Muslim parents and children, I wish you a fulfilled time of fasting. And to all of our parents and children I wish a peaceful time of learning – not only school work, but learning more about yourselves and what you are capable to endure and achieve.
I know that we can beat this virus together. Stay safe.
