Message from the Principal
Greetings Rummel Creek Parents & Welcome to the 2018 - 2019 School Year.  It was so great to see how eager students were to be back at RCE and see their teachers and friends.  I am amazed how quickly our students are getting into the routines.  I was able to meet with each grade level the first 2 days.  It was a great time to talk about summer fun, meet new students and discuss our procedures and expectations.  The RCE staff has worked long hours to prepare for this new year.  I am very proud of our staff and we will work tirelessly to help students achieve more than they ever thought possible.  RCE is a wonderful place to work, learn and grow.  It is my privilege to be a part of this supportive community.

Big Form is now Available

It's time to fill out the Big Form! This is your one-stop shop to join the PTA, order directories and yearbooks, purchase birthdays on the marquee, donate to the underwriting campaign and volunteer for a variety of school-wide opportunities. New this year, you can now pay your CLASS DUES via the Big Form. Please take a moment and complete your Big Form today. Deadline is Friday, September 14th.

After you fill out the Big Form please make sure to verify and save your info on the My School Anywhere page so that we may include your info in our directory.

Back-to-School To-Do's

1) All returning RCE parents need to complete 2018-19 forms online via Family Access. Please complete as soon as possible prior to the start of school, Thursday, August 16. If you do not have your log-in info, you will need to contact the RCE office.

2) Register to volunteer at RCE. You must be an SBISD approved volunteer to attend field trips, assist in classrooms, help with class parties, etc. This MUST be done every year.

3) Subscribe to our calendar. As events are updated it will automatically update them for you on your Google, Outlook, Apple, etc. calendars.

4) “Like" our Facebook page “Rummel Creek Elementary.” This page is used to alert of special dates and events and keep you informed of what’s going on at RCE!

5) Donate to the RCE business underwriting campaign (family underwriting is done via Big Form).

6) If you know someone that’s not receiving the RCE Flash emails, please forward this to them and tell them to sign up for the RCE PTA Flash email list.

Spirit Wear

- Spirit wear was on your oldest child's desk at Meet the Teacher. Inside the bag, there was a print out with your order.  Please take a few minutes to double check your order with what is in the bag.  We are human and errors may have occurred. 
- If you have an error, please return the item to Jenny Steane and email Leslie Sloan at rcespiritwear2018@gmail.com to notify her of the error.  Please include your oldest child's name and teacher in the email and we will deliver the proper size to your child ASAP.
- If you ordered the long sleeve denim shirt, your order will be delivered in the next few weeks.  The shirts were on back order with the manufacturer.  Thank you for your patience!
- If you did not order spirit wear or want some more we will be selling all the remaining items through an online link in the near future.  Please stay tuned and we will let you know when the sale is open.

Parking and Carpool Line

As we get into a routine of picking our kids up we wanted to remind you of a couple of things.  First off, please DO NOT park in the south parking lot…this lot is for our staff and buses ONLY!  Second, our parent drive is two lanes.  When you are waiting in our carpool line to pick up or drop off please pull into the lane closest to the curb.  If there is not space for you to pull into that lane then please wait on Brittmoore and do not sit in the other lane that blocks both lanes.  Additionally, as the lane moves please continue to stay nearest the curb to always allow that second lane to be available for pass through traffic.  Thank you for your help in making our parent drive run as safe and smoothly as possible.
