July Update
June was a busy month. I launched the new Terre Mieli Cieli website, sold 60 bottles, added a bunch of new bottles to the collection and re-launched my wine tastings with another sold-out Greek wine tasting, albeit under coronavirus-dictated conditions of just 10 participants (Apologies to those who were on the waiting list: no one cancelled last-minute).
Virtual wine tastings
Since the July tasting also sold out a month in advance I decided to try something a little different. In addition to doing the Sardinian wine tasting in our garden on the 23rd of July, I've partnered with the American Club of Brussels to do a series of three Virtual Wine Tastings for those who want to try just a couple of new wines, at Happy Hour, without having to cross town, put on a mask or worry about waiting lists. They are open to both ACB members and non-members. You order the wines in advance, they're delivered to your door, and we meet on Zoom to discover them together, two wines per evening. For people who've never been to one of my tastings, it'll be a sort of sneak preview, and for those who have, but just want to taste two wines rather than the usual 8 or 10, it's a "lite" alternative. Check them out!
Who's up for a tasting in August?
I haven't yet scheduled any wine tastings for August because I'm never sure anyone will be in town. If you will be here in August and would like to join a tasting--Spanish, Portuguese, only rosés?--please let me know by email and I'll see what I can do! If I don't do a tasting in August, I'll at least schedule at least one per month this fall.
Belgian wines for Belgian National Day?
Lastly, with Belgian National Day coming up soon (July 21), I wanted to flag that I've added four great Belgian wines from Domaine Viticole du Chenoy to my web shop. Two sparkling wines and two reds offer good options for both barbecues and firework-viewing. Fingers crossed for good weather!
