The Jetstream™ Hydrangea is an improvement on traditional Oakleaf Hydrangeas. It has a dense, compact, sturdy growth habit that keeps the plant from flopping over when the blooms get big and heavy. Grows 5-6' tall with a 4-5' spread.
In mid-spring to early summer the flowers begin to develop as large lime green cone shaped buds that turn into pure white blooms, aging to a deep rosy pink. Makes a nice cut flower in all stages. The dark green foliage turns orange-red in the fall.
Prune after blooming, it flowers from buds that formed on "old wood" (during the previous year). Oakleaf hydrangeas typically require little to no pruning. They are best left alone except to remove damaged or dead branches. Grows best in full sun to part shade in a sheltered location. Consider applying a thick mulch around the root zone in winter for protection.
