Wardens Parish News 5 July
What a wet, windy and wild week we have had. Hopefully things will calm down soon.
Don’t forget this week we return to our 8am and 10am services and welcome Rev Kay Webster as our priest. Next week, 12 July, it will be the combined 9am service taken by Rev Tony Gardiner.
Pyjamas for children in hospital.
It’s not too late to donate some jammies to this cause. Just bring them to church on Sunday and add them to the gold box at the back of the church or drop them into the parish office on Tuesday – closing date for donations. The jammies will then be taken to the hospital.
Gardening bee plus, Saturday 11 July, 9.30am
We are having a gardening- and property-working bee to smarten up of the area behind the hall, to give it its best look for potential renters of the ground floor. This will include weeding the raised gardens and water-blasting the back walls of the hall.
And around the church there’ll be some weeding, cutting back and leaf-raking.
Please bring your own tools, woolsacks etc. All are welcome to join us for fellowship, fun working together, and morning tea!
If weather seems too inclement, please ring Pam on 027 602 7827, on the day.
Mary Potter Hospice Street Collection – 18 and 19 September
The hospice need volunteers to help with this street collection – here is the request from them -
My name is Steve and I’m writing regarding our upcoming Street Appeal in September. We are looking for volunteers who can help us collect for the Mary Potter Hospice Street Collection on the 18 and 19 September.
All the money raised at the Appeal will be used to help us keep our services free-of-charge for anyone that may need us. It is because of all our amazing volunteers (and the support we receive from the community) that come back year after year to support us, that we are able to continue to provide the great service that we do.
If you can help us by volunteering at this year’s street collection, please register your support on our website https://marypotter.org.nz/events/street-appeal/
We will be collecting in Wellington, Porirua and Kāpiti regions, so you can choose any location as per your convenience and for any number of hours. Alternatively, if you wanted to put a team together and run a site for the whole day then this would be great as well.
The diocesan campaign to support four overseas projects in response to the COVID-19 pandemic has received over $42,000 so far. We will be sending our donations to the Dio office on Tuesday – if you would still like to make a donation please put it in the offertory plate on Sunday in an envelope marked Covid Appeal.
Onslow Community Church are offering the opportunity for people to attend an Alpha Information Night on Tues 21 July. This will be held at 1841 Restaurant & Bar in Johnsonville.
The course will be hosted by them at Onslow Community Church, 4 Ngatoto St, Ngaio (or in a home depending on numbers). It will run for 9 Tuesday evenings and will include a day Away on Saturday 5 September.
If you would like further information please contact Pete Rhodes-Robinson, Community Pastor on 027 324 6650 or email@example.com
God bless you, my friend
May the seasons of your live be held in love.
May your winters be short and your summers long.
May smiles pour out on you, warm like the sun and may your tears refresh like rain.
May your garden flower abundantly sweetening your neighbourhood,
and may your roses always bloom larger than their thorns.
God bless you, my friend.
May your wisdom increase like a deep rooted tree
and may peace always nest in its branches to sing to you above the noise of the storms.
May you always see yourself in God’s plan for a blossoming earth,
and may the fragrance of your truth be a celebration for all.
God bless you, my friend.

God bless and keep warm
