District 9620 District Grants committee update
Good morning Rotarians, thought I would give you a heads up on where we, the District 9620 grants committee are at, at this moment in time.
For you and your clubs info, we too have to follow a process of collating all grant applications and submitting one application to the foundation for the annual funding.
Whilst this is normally quite a simple process, this year it is being complicated by the fact that the two districts being 9600 and 9630 are merging to become one new district being 9620.
Before I can submit the annual District Grant application for funding this new district has to become qualified with the foundation.
The process of qualification cannot be commenced till after the 1st of July and may take some time to complete.
Once qualified I will then be in a position to write the Districts grant application for the available funds, after which we will need to wait for the Foundation to review and advise when funds will be available.
Further FYI we, the District 9620 grants committee have received 48 grant applications, totalling AUD $174k an amount of AUD$40k above our anticipated available grant funds of AUD $134K.
As a consequence you will appreciate we will of necessity, have to make some hard decisions and it may be that we may not be in a position to fund all of the applications we have received.
Be assured we are doing everything in our power to hasten the process but don’t really expect to have confirmation of our funding till mid-July at the earliest, as such in the meantime I have written to all the clubs that have submitted applications to stress that no grant application can be started till after they receive advice from the District Grant Committee that the grant can start.
Once I have further information I will advise accordingly.
