Stalybridge Celtic Juniors Monthly Wrap | March

This is a Monthly Wrap we never imagined writing. Over the last four weeks, grassroots football was firstly suspended and subsequently, the 2019/20 season ended. We have asked all parents/carers of players in teams to suspend their monthly direct debits. Hopefully, this helps any families who are struggling at this time.
Although there is no football, the club's social media is more active than ever with activities and fun things to do whilst at home. So far we've had the toilet roll challenge, Lego lockdown challenge, and an April Fools' twelve months in the making. Make sure you are following us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
2019/20 Season Concluded
The FA have announced that the 2019-20 season has concluded. The FA statement included the following regarding grassroots: 'We can now confirm that we have decided that all grassroots football is concluded for the 2019-20 season. This will allow the game to move forward and to commence planning for next season.''
2019/20 Presentation Night Postponed
This year's presentation night, set to take place on Saturday 16 May at Wright Robinson College, has been postponed. We are currently looking at options to be able to announce this year's special award winners (Player's Player, Manager's Player and Most Improved Player for each team) and to be able to hand out this year's trophies and celebrate every player later in the year.
Prostate Testing Day Saved Lives
February's Prostate Testing Day at the Soccer School and organised by Cancer Warriors saw a better attendance than anyone ever imagined. 280 men were tested in just three hours. Cancer Warriors have shared figures from the day and not all test results were green. This early identification means those effected can speak to their GP to discuss and investigate raised levels further. Recent events have meant Cancer Warriors need your donations more than ever. If you or someone you know was tested please donate here if you can.
Since schools closed and lockdown began we've had some fun on the club's social media.

Starting with the toilet roll challenge, we had lots of individual efforts from players and coaches, and an epic team effort from the under 12s! The Lego lockdown challenge means you can build anything you like, so long as it is football related and of course in blue & white. And finally, our April Fools' effort certainly tricked some of you before remembering what the date was!

Coaches have also been busy keeping in touch with their players on WhatsApp groups and delivering training via Zoom.
A volunteer-run junior football club for players of all abilities since 1975.
An FA Charter Standard Development Club.
