BIA Separations Announces Additional Facility Expansion to Accommodate Growth

BIA Separations is committed to serve the dynamic and rapidly growing gene therapy and (oncolytic) vaccine sector and provide products and services to customers globally. In the beginning of 2020, we announced a six milion euro investment in a new facility (Phase I) in the Primorska region. The new facility will create 100 new jobs and allow expansion of production capacity.

The first phase will begin operation end of 2020 and give place to begin construction of Phase II, to address the needs of Covid vaccine production. At present BIA Separations is supplying the columns to 9 companies developing Covid vaccines.

Phase I will increase the facility footprint by 3124 square meters. Phase II will add an additional 1895 square meters. This expansion will enable almost ten-fold increase of the production capacity and provide additional laboratory space for our process development and analytical services.
