"Special Access Granted" Golf Cart Stickers
Due to the fact that a number of golf carts have a "Special Access Granted" sticker but the member may have recovered from the ailment that supported the issuing of the sticker in the first place, we ask all those who require this sticker to reapply.

All members who are reapplying for this sticker, need to do so in writing to the golf committee before the end of February.  Please email your application to golfadmin@mountedgecombe.com and supply a new up-to-date specialist certificate stating why you require these benefits. These members will be issued a new "Special Access Granted"  sticker from the office once they have come in and signed the rules and conditions that apply to these benefits.

All members that hire carts from the Club also need apply to the committee and  also sign the same conditions to gain access to these benefits prior to the end of February.  This will be on an annual renewal basis. Thanks in advance for your support on this issue.
UPDATE ON THE COURSES:
KEVIN'S CORNER
Hi there

I am glad to report that the “Spring treatment” on The Lakes went well and after the recent great rains the course should be back to its previous fantastic condition .

We did however have a massive storm early on Sunday morning with a downpour of 52mm of rain in just under two hours. This caused massive damage to our bunkers on both The Lakes and The woods but the good news was that the bunkers were treated as GUR which meant that you could had a FREE drop outside the bunker.....I hope this made the game a bit easier.
We are still struggling to trim the rough down but with all the rain it has been quite a challenge. We are cutting at every opportunity we get, so it’s definitely not from lack of effort on the side of the ground staff. The greens are still very good although they might be a bit slow for some players but that is also due to all the rain.
We cut the greens EVERY DAY except when there is excessive rain and are we unable to get out and cut. On Sunday night we had extremely strong winds which caused the uprooting of two fever trees on the first hole on The Woods. Two other trees were badly damaged as well so they will need to be removed ASAP. We will be planting new trees in their place.
Once again we would like to THANK all those golfers who are helping us look after the courses by staying on the cart paths, filling in divots and repairing pitch marks which are not repaired.

Just a reminder, if you would like to renew your Special Access disc to please send Slade a letter of motivation. Please email your application to golfadmin@mountedgecombe.com and supply a new up-to-date specialist certificate stating why you require these benefits.

Due to recent changes to Alert level 3, certain restrictions have been lifted and we are able resume a two tee start on The Woods. This will come into effect from Monday 8th of February.  Please check the timesheets for any changes if you have already booked a time.

That’s it for this week.
Good golfing!
Kevin
