‘Follow Your Heart’ Pendant

It's a New Year...Follow Your Heart

Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed the holidays as much as I did. Though there was a chair empty this year at the head of the table and we missed my father deeply, we tried to live up to his holiday standard. He loved Christmas, so my husband and I set out to make it a beautiful one. It felt good to put our creative energy into treating our family and friends.

My creative juices were definitely working overtime, it seemed. My mother had been having a hard time finding silver, puffed heart pendants for her friends to thank them for their support. Out of nowhere, I decided I might be able to create a suitable solution (truly, this was out of nowhere as I have never made any jewelry, though I did study gemology years ago and worked for a jeweler). I started creating hearts using my mixed-media materials. Turns out, my mother loved the result - and so did her friends - so now I’m making them available to you! Made with two hearts back-to-back and now beating as one, each is custom made with floating metal leaf, approximately 1.25” high, plus a sterling silver bail. ‘Follow Your Heart’ is seen above.

I loved making these hearts so much, I decided to work on another design. The result was a sphere I’ve called ‘You’re My World.’ It’s available as a transparent piece or in many different colors ('Turquoise' is seen below) using the artistic technique of reverse painting.

The entire custom jewelry collection is called Dragon Glass®️after the pet name of my art studio, Dragonwood. I love all the pieces - and hope you do, too. You may view all the new Dragon Glass®️ jewelry on my website: Each piece is made to order and one-of-a-kind.

All this exciting work in a new field inspired me to take the small spheres and go BIGGER:  Bigger innovations;  Bigger  joy. The result is ‘Celestial Dancers,’ seen above. These bold and colorful creations of individual wall sculptures represent the universe and all the energetic matter floating inside, including ourselves. They are available in groupings for directly on your wall or on painted panels. Each is an original. You can view further examples of applications on my website at
