Everything Anew

First, let me wish you a very happy New Year and hope this note finds you well. Personally, I have been very busy since I last wrote you! Dan, our three cavalier King Charles spaniels and I moved across country in October, trading the desert sand of Scottsdale, AZ for the beach sand of Newport, RI. We can finally say that we feel settled, and we regularly enjoy beach walks, bike rides along the coast, leisurely strolls through the beautiful historic streets - and SNOW! This new environment has been both exhilarating and inspiring.

Before leaving Scottsdale, I had started to work with alcohol inks. As a lover of all things water, I am attracted to the free flow this medium provides. I utilize them on wood panels under resin, as well as create small works on paper from which I photograph abstracts to transform artworks into fine art prints. Naturally, too, with all the beautiful scenery here in Newport, I can’t possibly neglect my photography practice. I have a brand new collection of black and white winter dune shots you’ll want to check out. And once spring arrives, I will have my lens directed at all the gorgeous blossoms. You can find all my work on my website under Art Collection and Fine Art Prints.

ADC Fine Art’s Art Comes Alive completion is one of the greatest world-wide art competitions with over a quarter of million dollars in prizes. I am delighted to have been recognized as a finalist for my abstract photography, ‘Coral Reef Triptych’. I am honored by this award - and by the fact that my artwork is currently displayed in the office of Litsa Spanos (shown below), the president and owner of ADC. Thank you, Litsa!

ADC Fine Art recently sold one of my ‘Seasons’ mixed-media wall sculptures of falling leaves. I’m very proud of these creations, which are the second of a series of leaves using router-cut photography with my glass and resin ‘dewdrops.’  They were also featured in ADC’s Blink resource book where they came to the client’s attention.

Hot off the press... I have been invited to participate in a spring show at a gallery here in Newport! Just thrilled! I will send you an invite as soon as I have all the details.

Though I have moved shop, I have not moved away from my world-class printer and fabricator, Artisan Colour. In their latest blog post, they very kindly featured a few of my pieces. Thank you, Artisan!

NEW ADDITION: ADC Fine Art is thriving and has opened yet another gallery in Cincinnati, ADC West, where many of my latest work reside. The new addition gives ADC a combined 18,000 sqft. - mega-gallery territory- and gives them the honour of being the largest gallery in Cincinnati. Congratulations, ADC!

MOVED: The Bennett Sculpture Carmel in Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA has moved just down the street to a gorgeous new and light-filled gallery space. I’m delighted to have moved with them and you can find all the beautiful work at Dolores btw. 5th & 6th. Stop in on almost any day and see my friend Ashley Bennett painting away!
